How Big is Your DREAM?

As a business owner or executive, you’ve almost certainly experienced a magic moment when a new “big idea”, that has the potential to transform your business, comes to mind. The moment is truly magical in that a new and exciting vision with the potential for meaningful impact on the future emerges. It represents the perfect opportunity to reflect more deeply on your destiny, the future of the business, and to define specifically how you need to reshape yourself as a leader and how to retool the company for more success. It’s a time to broadly define what more success will look and feel like, and how it will be achieved.
Let’s examine in more detail three important destiny-defining habits. By practicing these habits, business owners and executives will overcome the natural temptation to operate with a mindset of scarcity, and be driven by a vision shaped by a desire for greater abundance.
Successful business owners don’t define their ambitions by the limits of their current skills and competencies – they DREAM BIG – and are driven by their future vision. They are unconstrained by the current state of things and shape their future around who they have to be in order to realize their dream. They take charge of their destiny by developing and executing a plan for success. They embrace the challenges of a personal transition and don’t wait for permission to succeed.
The second habit of visionary business owners is flexibility. They possess a natural curiosity and willingness to allow others to influence or even challenge their views and opinions. They are mindful of the need to enlist help from others in pursuit of their dream and make a strong effort to get their team on board with their vision and with the activities needed to translate that vision into reality.
Visionary business owners practice a third habit by being skilled in the art of time management. They avoid having their days hijacked by other people’s agendas, especially when misaligned with their vision.  They instill a culture of laser beam focus through strong, charismatic leadership, clear communications and an unwavering commitment to the vision.

These three destiny-defining habits – DREAM BIG, FLEXIBILITY, and TIME MANAGEMENT – combine to form a powerful force that will help bring about sustainable success for businesses.

Success is a choice!  Which path do you choose?
